Emily Stewart Walker Obituary

Emily Stewart Walker was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania December 22, 1936 to the Leon Edward and Ivy Stewart. She was the third child of five siblings. 

Emily was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System.


Emily moved to New York where she met & married Gerald Stewart and from that union two sons were born, Tyron and Gerald.


Emily returned to Philadelphia where she gained employment at St Christopher's Hospital, where she worked over 30 years until she retired.


Emily was a member of MT Sinai Tabernacle Baptist Church. There she served on the Usher board and also worked with the Culinary Committee.


On June 7, 1980 Emily married Henry Walker. She was a very loving and devoted wife who stood by him until his passing.


Emily was proceeded in death by her son Gerald, three siblings, Leon, Ruth and Mary, Grandson Quillan, and three stepchildren Charles, Cynthia and Cassandra.


Emily leaves to cherish her memory: 

one son Tyron Stewar Sr, her brother Bobby, Aunt Audrey, Cousin Mary (Gary), nine grandchildren: Tyron Jr, Tiffany, Cameron, Brandon, Gerald Jr, (Yolanda), Jahadah, Eric & Henry Jr, 28 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, in laws Yvonne (Donald), Denise, Marshall (Nancy), Hattie (Fred), May, Sandy, Blaney, other relatives and friends.
