Debra G Lewis Obituary

DEBRA’S LIFE STORY

Whereas, again God has sent an Angel to help Debra Gwendolyn (Marshall) Lewis take her flight at the call of the Heavenly Father to the mansion prepared for her from the foundation of the earth. An all wise and loving God has called Debra from labor and suffering to rest.

Debra Gwendolyn (Marshall) Lewis was born on November 8, 1957 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the first born to the late Ida (Monica) Olivia and Grady Marshall, Jr. She graduated from William Penn High School and attended Temple University, majoring in Education where she received her Master’s Degree while working on her Doctorate Degree. She was affectionately known as “Debbie”.

Debra has five children: Aneatra Brunson, Samirah Lewis, Munir Abdul-Haqq, Adam Lewis, Antonio DelRio. In 1978 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Brad Norman Lewis.

Debra’s social time was dinner with friends, going to the movies, reading, listening to all types of 50s and 60s music genres, texting her granddaughter, traveling, meeting people of different cultures, and loved teaching her students. She was very much interested in education and her students called her the best teacher.

On Friday, April 4, 2025, God folded His tender loving arms around Debra and took her home to her Eternal Rest.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Aneatra Brunson and Samirah Lewis, three sons, Munir Abdu-Haqq, Adam Lewis and Antonio DelRio, one sister Monikah (Doreen) Marshall, two brothers, Grady (David) Marshall, III (deceased) and Anthony Marshall, five grandchildren: Marquis Battle (deceased), Deja Lewis, Darryl Fitzgerald, Navi and Nyree Cave, two great grandchildren: Egypt Leverette-Marshall and Saya Flythe, three nephews: Angelo J. Marshall, Sr. (deceased), Tyree L. Jones and Terrell L. Jones (deceased), a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, friends and loved ones. She will forever be missed and never forgotten.

Lovingly submitted,

The family
