Obituary of Lessie VanBrunt

Lessie VanBrunt Addison, daughter of James and Lessie Jackson, was born on June 5,1925, in Philadelphia, PA and she departed this life on December 23, 2019. She was baptized at Gospel Temple Baptist Church, received her education in the Philadelphia Public School System, and was a seamstress for most of her life. She was a longtime member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Lessie used her beautiful smile and friendly demeanor to bring a smile to all those around her. She had unconditional love for her church and family and used every opportunity to be a blessing to others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Addison; daughter, Cheryl Banks; grandson, Louis Porter and great-grandsons, Shareef Tillman and Jamil White. Days after Lessie gained her heavenly wings, her daughter and caregiver of many years, Marlene Porter joined her to be with the Lord. She is fondly remembered and is survived by her daughter, Juanita Golden, her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a host of good friends.
