Obituary of Stephanie Auguste

Stephanie Samantha Auguste (“Samumu” or “Steph”), 35, went home to our Lord and Savior on December 12, 2022 after a long battle with Scleroderma. She was born on June 10, 1987 to Antoine Auguste and the late Soinèse Molière in Port Au Prince, Haiti. She grew up in Haiti with her younger brother Jeffrey and moved to the United States in 2000 to live with their father after their mother become ill. While living in the United States, Stephanie attended and graduated from Philadelphia’s Northeast High School in 2006 and later went on to study Respiratory Care at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she received her undergraduate degree in May 2013. She would always strive for academic excellence and went on to have a nearly ten-year career working in the respiratory and healthcare field. Despite battling her illness, she still went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in December 2021 and also worked a full-time job. She never allowed the setbacks in her life to stop her from living her live. Stephanie will be remembered for her bubbly personality, warm smile and giving the best advice. Her love for her family and those closest to her was only exceeded by the generosity and kindness of her heart. Stephanie had incredible patience and always made time to help others. She had a servant’s heart and was committed to spending her life doing the Lord’s work both inside and outside of the church. Stephanie had an unrelenting faith in God and was a devoted Seventh Day Adventist who took her Sabbath very seriously. As Stephanie’s illness rapidly deteriorated her health, her faith in God grew stronger. Her legacy will carry on forever reminding us that while we cannot control our circumstances in life, we can control our attitudes and choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love, kindness and service, just as Christ modeled for us. Stephanie was predeceased by mother, Soinèse, and her aunt, Mimose. She was the eldest of five siblings and she adored her siblings and in-laws. In addition to her father Antoine, she is survived by her brothers, Jeffrey along with his wife Krystal and Toddly, and her sisters, Abigaelle and Rorbie and her stepmother, Yanick. She leaves behind the woman who raised her and was her second mother, Marie Pierre, affectionately known as “Mommy Choupette”. Though Stephanie did not have any children of her own, she also leaves behind her nieces, Arielle and Ariah, and godchildren, Nathan and Lisa, who were her absolute pride and joy. Her memory will live on and she will be fondly remembered by her dearest cousins Jessica and Marco, close friends Valerie, Hera and Daphney as well as a host of cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
