Willie, I will always remember the first time we met. I was privileged to interview you for the CRC position. You showed up in a suit looking all professional. You had me laughing right away. Soon after you were hired you were showing up in sweats and according to CRC mythology even shorts! I thought to myself “I recommended this guy? What have I done?” Turns out you became one of my favorite people to work with. Every time I’d see you in report I knew that as tough as things got, we were gonna laugh and find a way to make the job fun. Your positive attitude, sense of humor and compassion brought people together. It sounds cliche but when you walk into a room it lights up. The IG reels you sent me were always hilarious. Our conversations about music, movies, tv and sports were always entertaining and I will miss them very much. Girls, your father is an amazing, inspiring man. He loves you very much and talked about you constantly. He wanted the world for you and will always be with you in spirit. He once told me that the Reese’s Take 5 candy bar was the most perfect candy ever created. He then shared his Take 5 with me. That’s the kinda guy he was and will always be… funny and thoughtful. “Peace and love to you and your family brother”- Willie

I will miss Willie very much. He was always cheerful while working in the CRC, which is by no means an easy thing to do. Whether it was discussing patient care or trash-talking about football, I always enjoyed the time I spent with him. I will always remember that whenever I checked on a patient that was loud or angry while talking to a CRC doc, Willie would already be standing outside of the room just in case he was needed. This was not something anyone had to ask him to do and it just seemed to be in his nature to want to help and protect others. The CRC will not be the same without Willie and he will be missed by all that knew him. To know him was to love him. My thoughts are with his wife and children, may they find peace in his memory and strength in one another.

My deepest condolences to the family, especially his girls. Your father was a great man with a heart of GOLD. He was the person that made our shift not feel like work, because he brought the laughs and joy. We lost an incredible man. And he was proud of you girls. You guys were his world.
