Obituary of Leroy Mathis

Sunrise October 29,1967 - January 7th 2025 Leroy Mathis was born on October 29th, 1967 in Philadelphia, PA to Gwendolyn Mathis and Leroy Smalls. Leroy started his education in the Philadelphia school system. Leroy attended Simon Grat High School and continued his education at Glenn Mills. Leroy worked at McDonalds and also was a driver for physical therapy patients going to physical therapy. He also worked as a deliver driver for a pharmacy for 4 years. Leroy dedicated his life to his children and grandchildren. He was with his life partner Darcell Ryan for 24 years. Leroy was known for his big personality. He had the biggest smile! He was a high spirted person. Leroy was affectionately known to many as " The L " or " Roy". Leroy Also had a mean steak being straight forward and blunt at times. He had many friend sand was loved by many. Leory was reunited with his son! He was a big Philadelphia Eagles fan. Leroy was proceed in death by his mother Gwendolyn C. Mathis, Stepmom Regina Black, Son Kevin Young, Brother Howard Black; Grandparents: Angel Hawkins, Genevia Josey, Joe Rose, Willy B Mathis and John Hawkins. Leroy leaves to cherish his memory: His father Leroy Smalls, Daughters Nyeisha Gass, Karisma Watson. Grandchildren Kaiyeer, Kaylynn, Joseph aka BJ, Josiah, Love of his life Darcey Ryan , Brothers Darryl Black, Wesley Ledbetter, Sisters Alberta Gillooly, Yvette Black , Lateya Ledbetter , Brother in law Yusuf Gillooly, Daughter Mother Alisa Watson.
