Obituary of Blane BJ Jones Jr.

Blane Lynn Jones II (BJ) was born June 12, 1983 to Mary Franceschi nee Murray and Blane Jones Sr. in Chester, PA.  One of six children, BJ departed this life on June 28, 2017. 

BJ was educated in the Chester Upland School District and during his high school career was on Chester High’s track team.  BJ enjoyed running track and excelled at this craft earning the name “Crazy Legs” from his track team.  At one point in his life BJ was employed at BertuccisRestaurant in Springfield, PA.  In his spare time Blane enjoyed playing basketball, watching the Eagles play and all that knew him knew he had the hands of a prize fighter. 

BJ will always be remembered for his laid back demeanor, quick responses, and his some would say irritating but definitely infectious laugh.  Nothing pleased BJ more than spending time with his family and developing a “SPECIAL” individual relationship with everyone one of them.  Everyone one of his family members will remember how he dealt with them individually cherished and respected who they were as an individual and protected them at all costs.  The brightest smiles came from BJ whenever he was surrounded by family.

BJ leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Mary Franceschi, father Blane Jones, step-mother Robin Reid, step-father Hector Franceschi,  son Levi Jones (Katie Kokoszka), sisters Latosha Murray and Tamika Hayward-Samuels (James), brothers John Hayward, Blair Jones, and Donte Mosley, grandparents Cheryl and Herbert Jones, special Aunts Robin Jones and Kory Jones, special uncle Brett Jones, special cousins: Deraya Jones and Brandon Jones, a significant other/ best friend, Katrina Welsh with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many other family and friends including mentor.

He was pre-deceased by his grandmother Mary (Lollie) Gordy and great grand-mother Mabel (Nanny) Howard.
